Our Great British Eliza Bear is inspired by George Bernard Shaws cockney flower girl, Eliza Doolittle. Eliza can also be seen in the film My Fair Lady. Poor Victorian girls would sell flowers to the upper classes in and around Londons Covent Garden.Eliza wears a plum coloured skirt, apron and white blouse with leg of mutton sleeves. Her blue shawl is fringed with black tassels to match her straw boater hat. Eliza carries a basket of beautiful English roses in a miniature woven basket.
