This delightful, damask rambling rose produces clusters of small, violet-scented, double, white flowers in April and May. Best in a sunny site away from cold winds its slender stems are ideal for training over an arch or pergola. For maximum results restrict late-summer pruning to the oldest, spent wood.Position: full sun or partial shadeSoil: fertile, humus-rich, moist, well-drained soilRate of growth: average to fast-growingFlowering period: April and MayFlower colour: whiteOther features: small, pale green leavesHardiness: frost hardyGarden care: Avoid planting in a site in which roses have recently been grown. Prune after flowering, reducing side-shoots to between two and four buds.Goes well with: Alchemilla mollis, Brunnera macrophylla, Iris germanica, Helleborus argutifolius, Clematis `Lasurstern`, Chionodoxa luciliae `Gigantea Grou |
